Every Good Morning Starts With a Good Night’s Sleep

Author: sleepeasy
August 30, 2010

person-sleeping.jpgA good day starts before your first cup of coffee or your morning shower - even before the very moment you wake up.  It starts the previous night, the instant you close your eyes.  Everything in your day can depend on a good night’s sleep.

If occasional sleeplessness keeps you from starting your day off right, then this evolution in pillow comfort - memory foam - can help.  The development of memory foam came about because of the space program in the United States.  The goal was to find ways to ease negative effects of acceleration and deceleration on astronauts in flight.  The result of all their research, produced a product that was ideal for use in other ways.  The memory foam gently molds and conforms to your every move while you sleep.  With its memory, it can adjust to your body temperature and weight to relieve pressure points.

They are an excellent alternative pillow for those who suffer from allergies caused by feathers or fibers as well.  They have even thought about the comfort of your pet and developed memory foam beds for them!

A restful night is just minutes away.  With memory foam pillows your next good day starts tonight.

5 Things Every Teen Must Do For Better Sleep

Author: sleepeasy
July 28, 2010

teensleeping.jpgMost teens, as do most adults, need 81/2 - 9 hours of sound sleep each night.  Unfortunately, even teens (1 in 4) suffer from trouble sleeping.  When our bodies are not rested, everything from our emotions, ability to focus on tasks, performance and health will be affected.

A few ideas to encourage a sound sleep:

  1. Keep active during the day - 60 minutes of exercise a day will decrease stress and allow you to feel relaxed, as long as it’s not done just prior to bedtime.
  2. Keep away from alcohol and drugs - contrary to popular belief, these are not a relaxant but a stimulant which can increase chances of waking up during the night.
  3. Keep the electronics in another room - keep your room a tech-free zone for 8-9 hours.
  4. Keep a sleep pattern - allow your body to anticipate sleep by going to bed the same time and having some night-time routines like reading, soft music playing, etc.
  5. Keep positive thoughts about sleep - say over and over in your mind and out-loud during the day, “Tonight, I will sleep well.”

Following these ideas should allow you to see a positive difference in your resting time.  It is also wise to ensure your teens pillow encourages proper body alignment to avoid back and neck problems.  A properly aligned body will avoid tossing and turning to find that comfortable spot.  We would encourage you to look into a memory foam pillow to contribute to that sound night’s sleep.

July 8, 2010

memory-foam.jpgIf you have been considering purchasing a memory foam pillow recently, you may have been overwhelmed by the various kinds available.  Let’s see if we can make this purchase slightly easier for you!

If you consider a visco-elastic memory foam, you can be sure you have the most comfortable foam that exists at this point.  This foam carries the perfect combination of density and softness.  The foam does not require either time or temperature to heat up to begin to conform to your body shape. With none of these hindrances in the way, you will be able to fall asleep quicker.  You will have less tendency to be squirming and moving about trying to find that comfortable sleeping position because no matter how you lay  your body to rest - it will be comfortable!  That leads to undisturbed sleep and since most of us do not allow 8 hours of rest for our bodies - every second matters!

Have fun shopping and we trust your selection of a memory foam pillow has just been made easier.

Sleeping Comfort Revolutionized by Memory Foam

We have realized the importance of our neck and head to be properly aligned which is why that sagging pillow  may be causing you more harm as it provides no support which affects your entire posture.

The benefit of memory foam, which is a visco-elastic polyurethane resilient foam, is its heat sensitive material.  This material allows it to contour and mold to the shape of your head and neck, whether you lie on your back or side.   It is soft and light but dense and durable.  With a comfortable position maintained throughout the night for your spine and neck, you won’t be twisting and turning all night.  Painful pressure points are eliminated and snoring can be eliminated as the head is held in the correct position for breathing.

Memory foam pillows are also available for traveling to ensure back and/or neck comfort or for use at the office on your chair.  We have even thought of the family pet and the comfort they need, with our memory foam bed.  You can see how common memory foam pillows are as well as beneficial.

To be at your peak performance you may want to re-consider what you place your head on tonight - will it be a memory foam pillow?

The Perfect Sleep-Over for the Fourth of July

Author: sleepeasy
July 2, 2010

american-flag.pngIt is said that more Americans will travel this Fourth of July holiday than have ever traveled for a holiday weekend.  Large-scale music events, fireworks and the other activities planned at the historic celebration in Philadelphia draw people from miles away.  There will be something for the whole family and with great offers on accommodations it catches the interest of many,  but wait…is there perhaps a more simple inexpensive way to celebrate the birth of our country and avoid the crowds, traffic and cost?

Camping can be a wonderful alternative and a great memory for your family whether you stay for a night or a week.  Camping requires some planning but by involving the whole family this will help create excitement for the get away.  Consider the following:

  • Decide on a campground that will best meet your needs.  Do you need a pool, playground?  Will you be able to watch the fireworks from that location?
  • Determine your accommodation style.  Will you sleep in a tent or RV unit? Would it be best to rent a cabin or chalet?  Wherever you decide to lay your head, make sure you pack your favourite memory foam pillow to ensure a sound sleep so you are able to enjoy the celebration weekend to its fullest!
  • Decorate your campsite with red, white and blue (ie:  tablecloth, lights).  Add to the fun by planning your own parade, enjoying  a barbeque and after the fireworks enjoy roasting marshmallows around a campfire.

At the end of the day, give yourself a pat on the back for making memories on this Fourth of July!

pet.jpgOwning a pet these days is no longer something that just farmers do!  It seems that every second household in a city block has an animal of some sort roaming the yard or barking at you from their front door.  While some of these pets may have been primarily purchased for protection in days past or to keep the mice population to a minimum, a lot of animals are now owned for the pleasure of companionship.

The pet industry has developed to meet the needs of petowners and pets alike such as: pet food, pet clothing, pet care, pet sitting, pet walking ,etc.  We now also want to ensure the health of pets while they rest and sleep.

Take the Stress off Your Back and Neck

memory foam pillow

If you suffer from chronic back pain, the simplest physical activities can become just as daunting as they are excruciating. Some people turn to painkillers, and that can be a dangerous and destructive path for obvious reasons. It’s best to stick to all-natural remedies and tools that can effectively alleviate back pain. Wouldn’t it be great to live a life free from constant discomfort?

First of all, take a look at your sleeping environment. A rock-hard mattress is fine as a preventative measure, but it doesn’t do someone with preexisting back issues any favors at all. A forgiving mattress should be paired with a therapeutic memory foam pillow, which conforms to the contours of your neck in an eminently comfortable way. If this switch causes the pain to subside, it will all be worth it.

Various Health Benefits of Memory Foam

Author: Sleepologist

memory foam pillows

Touted as cutting edge NASA technology, memory foam mattresses and memory foam pillows are extremely trendy right now. But this foam has more benefits than its comfort. It can also be a surprisingly smart decision for sufferers of various health problems.
Using the heat from your body, memory foam actually becomes more elastic and subsequently conforms to your body. This can be one of the easiest ways for a sufferer of chronic back pain to align his/her spine while sleeping. A properly aligned spine at night can translate to less soreness during the day.

Memory foam has even been shown to reduce the severity of sleep apnea. Elevating your head and neck, the position is conducive to proper breathing. As such, the effects of sleep apnea can be reduced and, in some cases, eliminated.

Memory foam mattresses and pillows even offer unexpected health benefits such as reduced allergies. While cotton and other organic fibers are a potential breeding ground for dust mites and other allergens, the inorganic foam formula is not.
