That Street Light May Be The Cause of Your Sleeping Problems!

Author: sleepeasy
April 27, 2009

streetlight.jpgWe have all become more aware of the importance of making every attempt to do our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.  One area of saving our earth has concentrated on light energy.  We’ve begun to change over our light bulbs to energy efficient ones and try to turn off all lights when we are leaving a room.  We’re also learning that while we save the earth, we may also solve some sleeping problems!

Light is basically energy, and if, while we are in a deep sleep, we are exposed to it abruptly, it can immediately affect our heart rates, breathing and serotonin levels.  Consider that even long-term  light sources while we sleep can have severe damage on our health and mental outlook.  There may be cause to consider the light sources around us at night.  Do I have the glow of a streetlight through my bedroom window?  Is there a nightlight left on throughout the evening?  Is the moonlight another threat?  Do my neighbours have a porch or garage light near my bedroom?  These subtle light sources could be affecting your sleep pattern.

When you invest in a memory foam pillow to give you the perfect night’s rest, don’t let an intruding source of light stop the sweet dreams from happening!

Common Cures For Problems Sleeping

sleepingproblemsfoam-perfectfoampillows.jpgMillions of people around the world have problems sleeping, and while some can be attributed to documented conditions like Sleep Apnea, some of it is just restlessness.  Because of the sheer amount of people with sleeping problems, there are thousands of ways that have been developed to combat not receiving adequate rest at night.  One of the most common causes of sleeping problems is stress, and to combat this, it’s a good idea to take steps at night and throughout the day to relieve the mind.  You might do some light exercise, meditation, take frequent five minute breaks, or just work harder to block out the problems that cause stress.  Sleeping problems can also be caused by physical problems due to a mattress being too hard or too soft, and even pillows can contribute.  This can be solved with a mattress pad and a new pillow.

There are numerous different causes of sleeping problems, and the above two are just the most common.  It’s best to seek professional help if sleeping problems persist for more than a month.  But in truth a lot of people can identify the source of their sleeping problems with a little insight into their lives and some thought.

Sleep Not Worry!

April 16, 2009

person-worrying.jpgNo matter where you turn or what you listen to, it seems there is no end to the bad news.  The main emphasis in the news is on the economy and if we allow our minds to dwell on these headlines we can certainly move towards feeling fear, anxiety and worry.

While we cannot free the world from all problems, we can still look after ourselves so that we remain healthy and keep our minds sharp, thus able to better deal with whatever life may throw our way.

While considering the perfect pillow for a good night’s rest may seem a luxury item in an economically trying time, it could cost you your health if you don’t consider it!  A memory foam pillow adjusts to your body temperature and weight to relieve pressure and allowing improved sleeping posture.

Investing in the stock market may not be a sure thing but investing in your health will be!

Sleep Tight and Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite!

sleeping-child.jpgHow come when we were kids we never wanted to go to bed?  Remember our parents telling us how important a good night’s rest was?  Of course, as soon as they turned the lights off, we were playing games under the blankets or pulling out our favourite book to read with a flashlight!

A good night’s rest is a basic need and it is crucial to a healthy lifestyle.  Having the right pillow is part of the key to a good night’s rest.  A memory foam pillow provides the support and comfort, enabling good, sound, solid sleep.

If only we would have listened to our parents and slept when we were young because now the responsibilities in life cut into our sleep time more and more!  Try to make a honest effort to grab those needed 8 hours of sleep.  Grab your memory foam pillow, close your eyes and do yourself a favour:  sleep well.

It’s Part of the Key to a Good Night’s Rest: The Pillow

feather.jpgI am sure we have all heard the stories about our parents, or perhaps grandparents, making their own feather-filled pillows or down quilts!  Not only have we heard the stories but perhaps we have seen the evidence of what they have made because it is still in their homes!  While that generation had to work for everything they had and were very happy to be warm and snugly at night,  as time as progressed, we have learned the importance of buying suitable products for how we sleep.  With each new generation there are more testings and discoveries made which help to assist in a good night’s rest which ultimately is crucial to a healthy lifestyle.

Perhaps, you are like I once was, and shopped for the cheapest pillow you could find, after all it was just to be used to sleep on, no big deal, right?  Wrong!  Research has shown the importance of having our bodies aligned properly while we sleep and pillows contribute to that.  I take no pride in finding the cheapest deal on pillows anymore.  Your body will say thank you for many years to come if you take the time to choose a product that is right for you and your body.

While there are many choices of materials in pillows, why not look into a memory foam pillow?

More Support For Sleep

Much of the cause of not sleeping well can be attributed to bad back or neck support whether from the mattress or the pillow.  Discomfort while sleeping can be caused when the spine isn’t aligned, and this often happens due to a bad mattress.  Sleeping on a mattress that is too hard can be just as detrimental as sleeping on a mattress that is too soft, and it’s important to make sure the back is straight while sleeping as much as possible.  Neck discomfort is another common reason that sleep can be difficult.  Making the neck comfortable is a different process for different people; some people can sleep without a pillow, some use two or more, and some prefer to just use a standard pillow.  One simple method to relieve neck discomfort is to purchase a neck pillow, which provides support in addition to a standard pillow.

Memory foam is one material that provides the ideal amount of support to align the spine and also cradle the neck.  Whether you wind up with a memory foam mattress or a memory foam pillow, you’re in for a more restful sleep in the near future!
