Information has been gathered suggesting that heavy snoring increase plaque build-up in the carotid arteries in the neck, which could be a risk factor for a stroke.
Sleep tests were performed in Australia concentrating on three categories of snoring. Mild, moderate and heavy snoring. The heavy snoring division did pose a concern for greater risk for strokes.
It’s not too late to find a way to eliminate that risk - perhaps it’s just a change in your pillow!
