Our winter season (especially for those living in Canada) does cause a person to spend more time indoors. On the average, we spend one-third of each day at home and during this time we expose ourselves to potential indoor allergens.
The #1 indoor allergen for most people with allergies is the house dust mite. These small microscopic creatures love to live in warm, cozy places like pillows, mattresses, box springs and duvet covers in your bedroom. There is a way you can protect yourself and your family to survive this allergen and others.
Great improvements have been made in the manufacturing of bedding, pillows and linens such as hypo-allergenic pillows and removable and washable covers for pillows.
Remember these dust mites can also be in hotels or a relative’s home so be smart and take your own pillow along with you.
Let’s keep those allergies to a minimum!
